By far, the engine rebuild or engine replacement are the most expensive types of auto repairs. Usually, if cylinders need to be replaced, the entire engine needs to be rebuilt. They will need to rebuild the cylinders, the valves, the timing will be off and needs to be reset, along with the compression, gaskets and fluids will all need to be replaced. The camshaft and lifters cause the valves to open and allow the flow of air and fuel. This is no easy task and can take a couple of weeks to complete.
